The “Institute for Developing Science and Health Initiatives (ideSHi)” was established in 2014 with a vision to devise pragmatic solutions to public health problems encountered in Bangladesh. Made possible with the Christophe Rodolfe Grand Prize awarded to Dr. Firdausi Qadri in June 2012, ideSHi started out as a small lab in the Institute of Public Health (IPH) in Mohakhali. The institute now has its own 5000 sq. ft. premises on the 11th Floor of Blue Moon Gram Tower, Kalshi Road, ECB Chattar, Mirpur, Dhaka-1216. ideSHi is equipped with BSL-2 facilities to carry out molecular, immunological, genetic and metabolic research. ideSHi is not just a strong facility for translational research, it also aims to train the next generation of Bangladeshi researchers with its training, fellowship and doctoral programs.
