iDiscover Maps

iDiscover is about the spirit of place. We work with locals—NGOs, community groups and urban wanderers—who show us their favourite places and tell us their stories. Together, we create interactive maps with honest and authentic walking itineraries (text, photo, audio and video) in Asia’s most captivating neighbourhoods to keep heritage alive. Our maps and story walks take travellers far beyond the beaten path, through little-known backstreets and unsung neighbourhoods, a venture to find the hidden gems in the urban jungle through the eyes of people who call the city home. The maps serve another purpose, too. They help amplify the local community’s voice, often the marginalised groups. iDiscover provides an inclusive, bottom-up process to map places that matter. The maps become a local depository of areas needing love and attention, a persuasive tool for a community to gain agency in shaping its urban future.
