The IDSA Detroit (DET) Chapter serves the networking and professional development needs of industrial designers in Detroit and surrounding areas. We connect business, technology and design to strengthen our community and elevate design culture. In 1994 and 2016 Detroit was the site of IDSA’s International Design Conference and Education Symposium which brought together designers from around the world for design dialogue and discourse.
IDSA Detroit also supports design students in the area, including College of Creative Studies, Cranbrook Academy, Kendall College of Art & Design, Lawrence Technical University, Northern Michigan University, University of Michigan, and Wayne State University. We encourage strong partnerships between the student chapters and our professional network with career development resources, portfolio reviews, and social events.
