IEEE EMBS Student Branch Chapter at the University of Moratuwa (IEEE EMBS at UoM) is the affiliated student body which works in collaboration with the Biomedical Engineering specialization in the Department of Electronic and Telecommunication Engineering, University of Moratuwa. The primary purpose of our chapter is to enhance the knowledge of students; primarily who are following the Biomedical Engineering degree program and secondarily all the engineering students in the University of Moratuwa and to promote the Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society (EMBS) of the international organization, the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE). This includes activities involving medical professionals and the industry to enhance research in the university, promoting the dissemination of knowledge of the theory and practice of all aspects of Biomedical Engineering and relevant medical sciences and enhancing the professional development of members.
