IFMSA has a long history of empowering medical students tackle health issues that matter to a generation, by organizing conferences, workshops, and events that work in the favor of aspiring medical students during the training years.
The International Federation of Medical Students’ Associations (IFMSA), founded in 1951, is one of the world’s oldest and largest student-run organizations. It represents, connects and engages every day with medical students from 135 NMOs in 125 countries around the globe.
Currently, we have three standing committees based in Bahrain;
SCOME – The standing committee of Medical Education aims to provide medical students with a platform to develop their knowledge and expand their way of thinking and presently focuses on medical education systems, medical ethics, equality in medical field, and geriatric medicine and palliative care.
SCOPH – The standing Committee on Public Health promotes the development of medical students worldwide regarding Public Health issues through an international sharing knowledge network, projects management, community-based learning, capacity building, advocacy, exchanges placements and access to external learning opportunities.
SCORP – The standing committee on Human Rights and Peace unite students who strive to create an equal and peaceful world and believe in international, intercultural as well as interpersonal solidarity.
