Institute for the Future of Human Society (IFoHS)

The Institute for the Future of Human Society (IFoHS) is a research institute at Kyoto University dedicated to advancing interdisciplinary research to shape a sustainable and equitable future. Our guiding principles are to create collective wisdom through interdisciplinary collaboration, to promote the development of new research through partnerships beyond academia, and to amplify our capabilities for sharing knowledge from the perspective of the humanities and social sciences. We aim to to foster an environment in which diverse dialogues and research endeavors are born, and confront the challenges our future societies will face using insights from our respective fields and research topics, such as human well-being, sustainable societies, global ethics, and impacts of new technology.
