Ignis Fire Testing

Ignis Testing is a Cape Town-based fire resistance testing laboratory. The company is headed by a qualified, professional engineer, registered with the ECSA. The Ignis Testing team has a wealth of experience in the building industry, contracting and manufacturing. ISO 17025 (in progress). We do fire resistance testing as per requirements of SANS 10177-2 and other relevant codes such as SANS 1253. This entails vertical and horizontal furnace testing for building elements such as doors, panels, dampers, ceilings, beams, etc. We can perform tests on short lead times and issue reports promptly after testing. We allow clients to witness tests so that they can learn about testing and the mechanisms of failure to enhance product development for improved fire-resistant products. Our professional assistance and support are directed at manufacturers, importers and distributors of fire-resistant products; consulting fire engineers and fire chiefs; as well as educational institutions involved in fire engineering.
