The Institute for Global Orthopaedics and Traumatology (IGOT) was founded in 2006 by the faculty and residents of the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) Department of Orthopaedic Surgery.
IGOT’s mission is to build capacity in musculoskeletal care through global partnerships
Through our global network of over 75 partners and affiliates we:
INCREASE clinical capacity through the teaching and training of practical, impactful skills to save limbs and ultimately lives;
BUILD research capacity of orthopaedic and trauma surgeons in resource-constrained environments;
ANSWER important research questions that help our partners improve the quality and efficiency of care;
FOSTER a commitment to global health in the orthopaedic trauma community by serving as advocates and empowering leaders
