IGS Greece (HGS)

The Hellenic Geosynthetics Society (IGS-Greece, also known as HGS), the Greek Chapter of the International Geosynthetics Society (IGS), is a non-profit association of persons (association) aiming to: - foster the knowledge in all fields related to Geosynthetic materials - To organize seminars, symposia, conferences, etc. related to geosynthetic materials - To promote the use of geosynthetic materials with papers, publications, books, etc - To develop, maintain, organize and forward publications, data archives, pictures, etc related to the proper use of geosynthetics in theengineering sector - to facilitate the understanding and interaction among members, in particular between producers and engineers, with regards to the use, properties and application of geosynthetics - to promote advanced geosynthetic materials along with their engineering use - to promote R&D of geosynthetics with emphasis given to co-operation/interaction between universities, foundations/engineering firms and producers (industry) - to encourage universities, academic institutions, etc to include courses relevant to the use of geosynthetics and their applications in their educational program
