IHUOMA is Luxury lingerie brand that celebrates the beauty of the modern Black Woman. The aim is to enrich & empower Women of Colour to find their divine femininity, be bold about their sensuality & the possibilities that arise from living their true self! IHUOMA launched in October 2020 by Annabelle Mu’azu & daughter A’isha, who saw a gap in the market for luxury lingerie & loungewear, developed around the darker nude tone & crafted using the finest silks & bespoke embroidery. Annabelle wanted to create collections that spoke to her as a black woman, exploring themes of self-love, feminine energy & sensuality with the ultimate desire being to show women how incredible they are by complimenting & enhancing the inherent beauty of all women of colour. ‘The creative in me wanted to do things differently! I wanted to create beautiful designs using exquisite fabrics & materials that complement & celebrate our melanin hues. Poetic lingerie that versed our stories & danced with our senses. I wanted to create ART' IHUOMA’s debut collection, Divine Feminine features embroidery designed by the duo, paying homage to the Egyptian Ankh, a symbol in black culture that evokes the embodiment of feminine /masculine verve & a reminder to the woman wearing IHUOMA, that she is modern-day goddess. "IHUOMA, at its core, is a luxury brand created to celebrate WOC however, is NOT exclusive to ‘her’. Far from it, IHUOMA creates luxurious designs that speak unapologetically to the empowerment of Black women, 'Culture' & spirituality. However, what might appear as a niche concept is in fact a message that resonates beyond colour & to a wider demographic of customers & followers. In a time where views are becoming increasingly binary, IHUOMA has transcended such opinions by the purity of the concept & beauty of the designs. IHUOMA, has garnered a strong following, growth, key stockists, collaborations with creative influencers & features in fashion & business editorials.
