International Input-Output Association

The International Input-Output Association (IIOA) is a scientific non-profit organisation founded in 1988. With over 800 members spanning 64 countries, the IIOA is the cornerstone of research in the field of input-output analysis. Our objective is the advancement of knowledge in input-output analysis. This includes improvements in basic data, theoretical insights and modelling, and applications - traditional and novel - of input-output techniques. We bring together both producers of statistics as well as a wide range of users, analysts and policy makers in order to enhance knowledge in important areas like energy, environment, international trade, financial flows, price and general equilibrium analysis, ecological sustainability and well-being. The Association fosters the exchange of ideas among a thriving and influential global community by arranging meetings, conferences and sponsoring a journal (Economic Systems Research). Our global annual conference aims to support young scholars, spread awareness about our organisation and provide a platform for sharing innovative developments in the field. The IIOA also promotes communication among regional and specialised input-output associations, cooperation with scholars in other fields and establishing contacts with enterprises, governments and international organisations interested in the use of multi-sectoral, multi-regional and multi-national modelling.
