Department of Energy Science and Engineering(DESE) has been looking forward into various modern techniques of energy harvesting. The department has been continuously putting its effort to make the future’s energy production secure with the help of climate-neutral energy resources for the prosperity of global community. With this motivation, this academic entity has been working for around 47 years to create adequately trained manpower at the M.Tech. and Ph.D. levels. The Government of India has a great commitment to the new energy sources, and it has a good synchronization with the global sustainable development goals. In order to materialize the vision of the Government, the department felt a need of initiating a technical educational program at the bottom of the educational pyramid, and due to this, it has initiated its own B.Tech. program in Energy Science and Engineering since 2021. In addition to this, it has also started its own MS (R) program in the same year. The research and teaching experiences of our esteemed and committed faculty members will help our students at UG and PG levels to develop their knowledge and skill set according to the needs of the industry and society. Since the technologies are continuously evolving in various new energy domains, some ecosystems for indigenous technologies are also required apart from adopting the existing global technologies in those domains. I am quite optimistic that the trained human resources of our department will be capable to bring this ecosystem in the area of energy science and engineering across the country. Not only that, but the students will also be capable to provide solutions for the overall development of any organization with which they will be involved in future.
