Institute of Theoretical and Applied Informatics, PAS is a research institute of Polish Academy of Sciences whose science activity concentrates in the area of Information Technology. The Institute of Theoretical and Applied Informatics of the Polish Academy of Sciences (ITAI PAS) is a scientific institute focused on research in the field of information technologies. It also specializes in training scientific personnel at an advanced level. The Institute's history dates back to 1966, with the establishment of the Comprehensive Automation Systems Division of the Polish Academy of Sciences. Today, IITiS PAN is a research center (Category A) focused on information technologies. The research conducted at the Institute revolves around several key areas: the Internet and the Internet of Things (IoT) and their services, Quantum Computing Systems, Computer Vision Systems, Machine Learning, Modeling, Performance Evaluation, and Security of Computer Systems, as well as Applied Informatics. The Institute is involved in the implementation of multiple international projects, funded by Horizon 2020 (e.g. DOSS: https://dossproject.eu/, IoTAC: https://iotac.eu/), NSF and NCN (e.g. IMPRESS-U Adaptive Infrastructure Recovery from Repeated Shocks through Resilience Stress Testing in Ukraine), and MCSA (e.g. ReACTIVE Too) Its collaboration with industry and other academic institutions centers on innovation creation and knowledge transfer. The Institute is also engaged in educational and social activities, promoting technical sciences among young researchers and the general public.
