WiSeR

The Centre for Advanced Wireless Systems & Sensing Research (WiSeR) is a leading research facility at IIT Madras focussed on next-generation wireless technologies and intelligent sensing systems. This centre’s expertise lies in developing advanced hardware and software for wireless communications and sensing applications. About 100 people specializing in baseband, RF and millimeter-wave circuits and systems are part of the centre, with end-to-end expertise in wireless protocols, IC and PCB design, and antennas for next-generation wireless communication systems. WiSeR’s core research activities address: 1. Development and prototyping of multi-antenna multi-band radios (T/R modules) 2. Development of advanced antennas 3. Development of phased arrays and Reconfigurable Intelligent Surfaces (RIS) 4. Algorithm development - signal processing, AI/ML 5. RF Chip development (CMOS, BiCMOS and GaN)
