IKAT Cacao is committed to direct trade and sustainable farming practices! Our wild-grown, organic cacao is harvested on the island of Flores in Indonesia. For centuries, regenerative practices have been used to grow cacao. This has helped to preserve a balanced ecosystem without the use of any chemical pesticides. At IKAT Cacao, we want the cacao farmers to live a life in dignity by paying them well above long-term global market prices, making a real difference in their lives. For our D2C products, we return 20% of our revenues (an amount unheard of in the cacao industry) back to the local communities in the villages as well as to NGOs that are active on the island. This money will directly help empower the cacao farming communities and preserve the island's natural ecosystem.
