But the parts they are made of are universal, like LEGO bricks. You can build more than one thing from the parts you get. You might start with a table and later add some parts to turn the table into a bed. Later, go back to the table and use the leftover parts to make a lamp and so on... Designs like these enable all circular practices, from repair to upgrade to reuse to recycling! And they are fun, giving you freedom and flexibility. IKEGO is designed as a collaborative design project. Anyone can contribute designs and parts. Through open innovation, the system and everything in it grows stronger every day. Tomorrow someone may add use cases for the parts of your bed you never saw coming. All parts are open. And that means you can buy any IKEGO product right now. It simply means that IKEGO not only gives you the opportunity to interact creatively with your built environment, but also Designers develop models from multipurpose parts and enable local workshops and larger manufacturers across the globe to make these sustainable modular products and sell them to their customers. Current models range from sustainable furniture and upgradable backpacks to easily repairable consumer electronics such as headphones and clocks. Multipurpose parts are at the heart of Ikego. The system basically works like LEGO® bricks but for real-world objects: You can take a product apart and use its parts to build something completely different.
