Met de Nederlandse Kankerregistratie (NKR) volgt IKNL al meer dan vijfendertig jaar op landelijk niveau de zorg voor patiënten met kanker. Dit levert een schat aan wetenschappelijk onderbouwde kennis en inzichten op, die direct van waarde zijn voor de praktijk. Inzichten waarmee kanker kan worden voorkomen en de zorg voor patiënten en hun kwaliteit van leven kan worden verbeterd. Onze inzet is dan ook om de impact van kanker te reduceren door betrouwbare en onafhankelijke inzichten over kanker te delen. Dit doen we onder meer vanuit onze multidisciplinaire tumorteams: medewerkers met verschillende achtergronden werken samen op een tumorsoort om zo optimaal kennis en kunde te kunnen benutten. Met KWF Kankerbestrijding en NKF richt IKNL zich via www.kanker.nl ook op patiënten.
