Das iLAS ist in der Entwicklung additiver Technologien sowie der Ausbildung von Ingenieuren und Berufsschullehrkräften in der Fachrichtung Metalltechnik engagiert.
Ausgestattet mit einer langjährigen Historie in der Lasermaterialbearbeitung erforscht und entwickelt das Institut für Laser- und Anlagensystemtechnik die additiven Fertigungsverfahren weiter. Unter der Leitung von Prof. Dr.-Ing. Claus Emmelmann steht insbesondere der Technologietransfer in die Industrie im Fokus. Das Institut für Laser- und Anlagensystemtechnik ist in folgenden Bereichen aktiv:
