Learn about our way of life, self-sufficiency and how we live in connection with nature and our animals. At our farm, all domestic animals are part of the family and well taken care of. We lead a sustainable way of life. Our farm and nature path with story-based activities, learning opportunities and sensory experiences is located near Ivalo and Saariselkä. The functional tasks and activities vary according to the eight Sami seasons and invite you to learn about life in the North, sense the season, feel the authenticity, do with your hands and find the connection with nature as well as yourself. At Ilonka, children and teenagers get to take the reins during winter season and drive the Husky sleds on their own or with the help of their parents. Husky Walks, Farm Visits, Sauna and Overnight Experiences, among other activities are for all ages and available throughout the year. It’s wonderful to connect with nature and the beautiful dogs! During winter season, we also offer luxurious private husky sledding tours for solo travelers and couples. We offer kids’ husky sledding activities during private guided farm visits and as an additional activity at the farm visits during public opening hours. You are warmly welcome to Ilonka!
