Institute for Legal Support and Technical Assistance The Institute for Legal Support and Technical Assistance, (ILSTA) is an Institute set up by legal professionals from international development organisations, national development agencies, academia, and the private sector, and specialises in capacity building of Good Governance in developing countries. ILSTA is a legal person set up and registered in Luxembourg and works as a partner organisation for Luxembourg’s development cooperation. The policy of ILSTA is to respond directly, in partnership with national authorities, to the needs of training and capacity building. Activities 2015-2020 Its first priority of operations will be the Lao PDR, as the Lao authorities expressed an interest in receiving tailored assistance and as the founding members have extensive experience in the governance sector in this country. In the time frame 2015-2020 ILSTA will work in 4 critical areas. The Institute has a modular approach for its strategy and planning of operations. Special efforts are made to link and crosslink various fields and actors in order to promote national coordination and avoid segmentation. - The Institute supports the legal sector by providing regular advanced trainings at the Faculty of Law and Political Science, National University of Laos. - The Institute supports the needs of law professionals at government agencies. - The Institute supports the national authorities to raise awareness of thematic issues at grassroots level. - The Institute manages and fosters understanding about knowledge and data management.
