The Image Guided Therapy Research Facility (IGTRF) is a distinguished centre dedicated to advancing and supporting all stages of preclinical medical device testing, innovation, and training. In collaboration with the Centre for Anatomy and Human Identification (CAHID), IGTRF has pioneered the development of a Thiel cadaveric model that enables extracorporeal perfusion of both arterial and venous systems.
This advanced perfusion capability facilitates multimodal imaging and supports a wide range of surgical interventions using a clinically relevant human cadaveric model. As an optimal platform for "first-in-human" testing, the model significantly advances the development of new medical devices, while also providing robust support for regulatory submissions and training in cutting-edge interventional techniques.
Recently, IGTRF became a core member of the Tayside Innovation MedTech Ecosystem (TIME), a collaborative network uniting the NHS, industry, and academia to drive the discovery and development of innovative solutions for patient care.
