IMEnz Bioengineering is a biotech company that carries out applied research of Industrial Microorganisms and Enzymes. IMEnz bridges the gap between scientific knowledge and industrial applications to expand the innovative power of her customers.
IMEnz’ mission is to develop sustainable industrial processes and products with lower costs and that contribute to a better climate. IMEnz develops processes to improve the sustainable production of biobased chemicals from e.g. renewable raw materials. These organic sources can be the widespread byproducts from the agri-related industry, including food and feed producers, and the paper industry. Examples of products and processes that have co-developed are: various high quality nutrients for fermentation; an economical process for the bioproduction of optically pure lactic acid; the engineering of (proteolytic) enzymes to degrade biomaterials under extreme conditions; enzyme libraries; libraries of unique microorganisms; a screening system for the discovery of new antimicrobial agents; etc..
