iMeta Science

iMeta Science is an academic association founded in Beijing, China, in July 2021. It comprises over 1,000 researchers specializing in bioinformatics, microbiome, metagenomics, biotechnology, and related disciplines. The association is dedicated to advancing bioinformatics and multiomics research globally. Its primary objectives include supporting researchers at all career stages, facilitating the exchange of scientific information, enhancing research infrastructure, and assisting scientists in disseminating their findings and methodologies. iMeta Science publishes two flagship open-access journals, iMeta and iMetaOmics, in collaboration with Wiley. These journals are committed to publishing innovative and high-quality research in the fields of multi-omics and bioinformatics. Noteworthy features of these journals include video abstracts, bilingual publications, and dissemination through social media, catering to a broad and diverse audience. The journal iMeta has achieved significant recognition, being indexed by ESCI/WOS/JCR, PubMed, Google Scholar, and Scopus. It received its first impact factor of 23.7 in 2024, ranking 2nd out of 165 journals in the microbiology field. iMetaOmics, launched in 2024, aspires to attain an impact factor exceeding 10 in the future.
