Interdisciplinary practice which integrates architecture, structural engineering, computational science, art and thought, driven by a strong responsibility towards social and ecological impacts. Architectural design demands for a sensitive comprehension of our cross-cultural communities and environments, embracing multiplicity to generate spaces of deep resonance, and evoking the existent to create new relevance. Dedicatedly pursuing the inherent poetry in every project, we strive to the ultimate synthesis to unite art and science to broaden the boundaries of form and materiality, while preserving a sense of place, identity and beauty. The rise of computer-aided design tools and modeling techniques has ushered a new language, enhancing a close collaboration between disciplines throughout the continuous planning process. Interested in new forms of cooperation, we develop algorithms and data within well-informed parametric interfaces, and we integrate our competencies in a Building Information Modeling (BIM) procedure, leveraging today’s possibilities while keeping a long-term architectural perspective, boosting for efficient solutions and technical innovation. Bigas Studio emerges from a young architect’s passion for combining computation and mathematics with design and construction, with an endeavour in its quest for incorporating creatively the contemporary methods to address projects with complex engineering constraints.
