iMMC - UCLouvain

The Institute of Mechanics, Materials, and Civil Engineering (iMMC) of the Université catholique de Louvain (UCLouvain) is a leading international center for research in engineering. Its core strengths span several of the major engineering disciplines encompassing energy, chemical engineering, biomedical engineering, Processing and characterisation of materials, civil and environmental engineering, fluid and solid mechanics, dynamical and electromechanical engineering and computational engineering. The Institute provides an integrated environment for the advancement of engineering, with an emphasis on creativity and problem solving, and on bridging the gap between fundamental and applied research through a collective approach. Modern experimental facilities are managed in three technology platforms with a specialized staff of several engineers and technicians. The Institute involves about 30 faculty members, more than 200 researchers and 40 technical and administrative staff to perform research in both experimentation and modeling. The values of the iMMC are respect and development of its members in a caring and transparent collective spirit that allows for individual freedom, curiosity and the pursuit of excellent for the common good and societal progress.
