Immunize.org (formerly Immunization Action Coalition) established its website (www.immunize.org) in 1994. It is a nonprofit organization that works to increase vaccination rates and prevent disease through advocacy and education. Immunize.org creates and distributes educational materials for healthcare professionals and the public that enhance the delivery of safe and effective vaccination services. Immunize.org advocates for policies that remove barriers to access to vaccinations for people of all ages and facilitates communication about the safety, efficacy, and use of vaccines within the broad immunization community of patients, parents, healthcare organizations, and government health agencies.
For more than three decades, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has worked in concert with and provided financial support to Immunize.org for the purpose of educating healthcare professionals about U.S. vaccine recommendations.
