Imperial College Sri Lankan Society

Imperial College Sri Lankan Society company information, Employees & Contact Information

Imperial's Sri Lankan Society is one of the oldest and most successful societies at Imperial College London (managing the second largest budget at Imperial College Union). We are an inclusive student-run society that was founded over 30 years ago, which organises and promotes cultural and sporting events, whilst supporting a range of charities. We aim to bring the vibrancy, diversity & warmth of Sri Lankan culture to Imperial, and to the UK! We have raised over £75,000 since our start of charity partnerships, which have help improve Sri Lanka. From aiding children in the Northern Province gain access to clean drinking water, to helping restore eyesight to 1000s through cataract operations, we place a strong emphasis on giving back to our common roots. In recent years we have been successful in raising money for charities such as the 'Think Pink' initiative by The Rosy May Foundation, and Ocean Stars Trust. We are the organisers of the largest student-run Sri Lankan event in the UK, Sapphire. Our flagship event is a dinner dance that attracts over 1000 guests from across the country to enjoy authentic Sri Lankan food, the hottest Sri Lankan entertainment, and the company of all your friends (Sri Lankan or not). We’d love you to join our large and fun community! Start now by connecting with us on LinkedIn for potential Alumni networking opportunities which will be invaluable for you later on. An affiliated group of Imperial College Union.
