Founded in 2002 following a legal requirement needed to implement IAMR Software - Ímpeto Advanced Medical Research. The project started as an invention to help the obstetricians record and identify clinical signs and syndromes when performing ultrasound scans. When on an early stage, considering it's potential the goal very rapidly evolved to a collaboration tool, not only to obstetricians and geneticists but also to ophthalmology. In fact very soon the platform became agnostic to the medical specialty. Dr. Vitor Gabriel and Dr. José Carlos were the project ambassadors providing all the needed support and expertise. Later the software integrated all the data from Oxford Medical London Database with the help of Dr. Michael Baraitser. The platform was designed to allow healthcare professionals share their findings and data with their peers all over the world. That would allow data mining and machine learning techniques to contribute on medical research. Later in 2010 the software was also applied to Veterinary with the help of Dr. Joaquim Henriques.
