Improve Glasgow is a results-focussed personal training facility in Tradeston, Glasgow.
We opened back in 2015 with the somewhat philanthropic goal of elevating the fitness industry in the city of Glasgow.
Our efforts to do so were three-pronged:
1. We wanted to make personal training more flexible and affordable so that people could access the best quality coaching on a multiple-times-per-week basis, and sustain it in the medium to long-term, from both a financial and a time commitment perspective.
In doing so, our hope was that Glasgow-residents would improve their health, fitness, strength, confidence, and education/understanding of all of the aforementioned, en route to becoming better versions of themselves.
2. We wanted to offer full-time employment and a career development pathway for personal trainers at a time when becoming freelance was the only option.
In doing so, our aim was to increase the average career lifecycle of a personal trainer, which - at the time - was between 6 and 18 months.
3. We wanted to change the perception of personal trainers from the ‘meathead’ stereotype to one that is taken as seriously as any other profession.
In doing so, our hope was that we would pave the way for the next generation of personal trainers to enter the industry with far more opportunities that we had when we first started.
After 10 years, we can proudly say we achieved all of these objectives and our goal now is to continue to expand our reach, help more people and continue to elevate the industry; both in terms of perception and impact.
