We work alongside designers, developers and councils to turn gender-sensitive theory and research around gender-sensitive design into practical and achievable solutions for the built environment. This can happen at all stages of a project, from using precedents and engagement to create a gender-inclusive design code at the outset of a masterplan, to being a critical friend and advisory support on detailed designs or supporting you with specific engagement projects to inform a particular design or space. Always with the goal of creating better places to live for everyone.
Our experience includes transport and active travel, housing and the public realm, but I have a particular focus on women’s and girls’ safety, engagement and more inclusive parks and public spaces. We also have access to a wide range of specialists in gender sensitive design, covering everything from lighting and long-form engagement to culture change and planning documentation.
