IN-MOB (INnovative products for sustainable MicromOBility) is a project co-funded by the European Commission, through the Interregional Innovation Investments Instrument (I3).
The project focuses on developing and testing innovative Micro-Vehicles (MV) products to unlock the full potential of micro-mobility. Our mission is clear: to increase the use of MVs and pave the way for integrated-sustainable mobility in our cities.
IN-MOB will develop:
1. MV with a very low environmental impact (recycled/recyclable materials: composite material e-bike);
2. MVs suitable for integration with public transport-easily transportable in private/public vehicles;
3. Innovative power supply system with latest-generation supercapacitors, capable of supplying energy for a medium range of use and high peak power for tackling demanding stretches of road;
4. Innovative light and efficient electric motor integrated into the wheel;
5. Hubs for fast charging of innovative batteries, based on PV power and equipped for battery sharing.
The innovations will be tested in 2 pilots:
Madeira (PT): a shared e-scooter service conceived particularly for tourists, considering the current regulatory barriers. Palermo (IT): e-bikes and cargo bikes will be used to test the potential integration with public transport and the benefits of MVs for urban logistics.
