USAID’s USD 29 million INARA (September 2021 - September 2026) will increase supply of electricity generation at the municipal level and increase the cost effectiveness, eco-friendliness, sustainability and reliability of municipal power supply, while examining and strengthening the enabling environment for renewable energy (RE) based electrical power generation
INARA will achieve this purpose through three main activity components:
1. The Infrastructure and Technical Component: INARA will create a standard typical and modular design for building and operating a municipal renewable energy system
2. The Enabling Environment Component: INARA will create a model for practically and legally investing in and installing renewable energy systems
3. The Community Engagement Component: INARA will clearly define the selection criteria, create community awareness activities, invite private sector engagement and ensure operation sustainability
