In Charley's Memory

At In Charley’s Memory (ICM), we provide affordable, uncapped 1:1 counselling for anyone over the age of 11 at our building in Highbridge, Somerset. We also work extensively to provide education and outreach services in schools and other organisations across the area to improve early intervention support for mental wellbeing. We collaborate with other third sector organisations to improve the mental health provision in our respective areas. Our origins are from tragedy, as sadly a local young man called Charley took his own life in 2014, and our organisation was founded by his mother, who in her grief decided that she would work tirelessly to ensure that no one would struggle in silence and offer a service to the local community. Almost ten years on, we are proud to be able to offer this support in person to hundreds of young people per week, with our dedicated BACP-registered team of fully qualified and degree-level counsellors. We are also particularly passionate about our work to raise awareness and provide early intervention points to help to minimise the need for longer term support. In Charley’s Memory is here today because Charley is not, and that is something that will continue to drive us all to provide the best possible support for all the young people that have the courage to ask for help.
