Anastasia Inciardi (she/her) is a food printmaker based in Portland Maine. She graduated from Kenyon College in 2019 majoring in Studio Art and Art History. Her primary printmaking medium is linocut, meaning that she uses carving tools to cut images in relief into blocks of linoleum.
Growing up Italian American, food was always central to Anastasia’s family—entire weeks were planned around meals and every outing or activity had to involve some sort of culinary reward. Carving prints of food connects Ana to her family and the experience of bonding with others over a good meal. She’s fortunate to be building her entire life around the celebration of food and eating—her partner is an organic vegetable farmer in Maine and brings a whole other angle to their shared obsession with food. In her free time Anastasia loves roller blading, eating cheese, talking to her grandmother on the phone, petting her cat, Coupon, and singing with her sister.
