About Inclusive Democracy and Development Lab
The ID2 Lab’s broad research aim is to identify how and when the voices of marginalized peoples are represented in political institutions in low- and middle-income countries and how political inclusion impacts broader patterns of development. All of our work begins from the premise that inclusive development must coincide with inclusive politics to ensure that historically disadvantaged communities are not left behind. The geographical focus of the ID2 lab is on South Asia, a region of the world where one in five people live and where identity-based inequalities remain acute and pervasive. The objective of our research is to identify actionable ways that South Asian countries can expand social services and grow their economies through the lens of inclusivity.
