Inclusivus

The Movement to Change Lives through InPowering Storytelling Poverty is about more than a lack of money--it is a lack of agency, a lack of voice. To end poverty, we need to engage with women and men in historically excluded communities and acknowledge their status and their power to bring change. Inclusivus is a platform that amplifies the stories and voices of men and women who are transforming their communities. Every voice matters and every story matters, because recognizing our shared humanity is what gives rise to peaceful, stable and inclusive societies. Our Mission We work under the belief that community members have the understanding and solutions to the problems their communities face. Donors, policymakers, and development practitioners ought to be engaging with communities to learn from them, leverage their assets and strengths, and build on their own existing successful practices by investing resources in these working solutions. This should be the primary approach, not an afterthought or a by-product. Creating inclusive societies requires a fundamental shift in how we view and approach communities of interventions--a shift from seeing community members as men and women who need to be empowered, to men and women who are already InPowered. Being InPowered the Get InPowered Podccast We work with people through what we term InPowerment, because power is not something bestowed on another (as the term “empowerment” suggests) but rather something that lies within, ready to be nurtured and released. We believe in the inherent power that people have. Through interviews, narratives, and commentaries, the Inclusivus’ Get InPowered Podcast: Fostering Community through Shared Stories spotlights individual innovators, advocates, activists, and agents of social change and designers across sectors who are transforming their communities and the world at large. In each episode, we talk with InPowered women and men who are inspiring action and creating more inclusive communities.
