The Indigenous Health Research Program is hosted within Curtin University Medical School and is led by Assoc. Professor Carrington Shepherd. Our research is guided by community Elders and senior Aboriginal research partners and includes a range of epidemiological, qualitative and mixed methods studies on critical issues impacting on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health—with a particular focus on perinatal health. We work collaboratively with other research institutions both within Australia and overseas including Telethon Kids Institute, Murdoch University’s Ngangk Yira’s Institute for Change. Our Research Projects Current research includes: • Stronger Bubbas Born • Jinda Maawit (Star Babies) • Kaat Koort Aboriginal Dementia Prevention RCT • Anti-Racism in Education • Defying the Odds
