Our Venues: The Heart and Soul Rainbow & Dove (operated by us since 2003) Located at 185 Charles Street, the Rainbow & Dove is all about warmth and welcome. It started as a 1930s corner pub. Today, under FireFly Bars LTD, it’s a lively spot for morning coffee or late-night cocktails. It’s a piece of Leicester’s history and a community hub. Dover Castle (operated by us since 2008) Located at 34 Dover Street, Dover Castle has been a gay bar since 1964. Known as Dolly's Dover Castle after its former owner, Dolly, it’s one of the UK’s oldest gay venues and was a fierce competitor to the Pineapple. It hosts karaoke, drag queen bingo, and cabaret. Dover Castle is a place where everyone feels welcome and celebrated. Helsinki (operated by us since 2010) Located at 94 Rutland Street, Helsinki has served the community since 1983. It started as a trendy coffee bar and lunch spot, then became a disco at 8 PM. It has hosted iconic DJs and acts like Freemasons and Livin Joy. Helsinki is where music, history, and fun come together, making it a staple of Leicester’s nightlife. We’re proud to run three of the city’s oldest LGBTQ+ venues, keeping the spirit of inclusion and community alive.
