Induction Motors Platform

This multi-stakeholder platform aims to develop advanced technologies in the field of induction motors applied to e-mobility through a collaborative approach between its members. Induction drivetrains don’t need magnets, nor rare earths, with the subsequent advantage in terms of supply risk, cost, market uncertainties, environment and LCA. Induction is a suitable technology as 2nd motor in passenger cars and as the main drivetrain in heavy duty vehicles. The platform has multiple purposes: 1) regularly exchange on activities carried out, 2) share intelligence on technology improvements and market developments, 3) identify potential cooperation opportunities (bilateral / multilateral), 4) launch joint initiatives (application to EU / national funding), 5) communicate about the technology and the activities of the platform. Core partners have already joined efforts to develop advanced induction machines in the context of the www.refreedrive.eu project (2017-2021).
