IndusOrigin was born as a project in an MBA class at the University of Toronto. Its’ impetus is the research and philosophy of the National Institute of Design in Ahmedabad, where designers and artisans meet to improve everyone’s lives.
IndusOrigin is a proprietary ecosystem that selects, engages, promotes, distributes, and gets Indian Handicrafts to North American individuals.
We research the desires of North American clients and collaborate with artisans in India who have innovative repertoire of hand made items, to find lifestyle products that click with our clients. Ultimately we will be commissioning new work inspired by our experiences in Canada and the United States and the Artisan’s common ground that will be an exclusive conversation about the importance of hand made products.
We celebrate “high touch” over ‘high tech”. We aim to have a high impact on the social situation of the artisans while providing emotive and meaningful accessories and lifestyle products for aware North Americans.
