Industrial Electronics & Instruments ( ILI ) was founded by Lt. Col. D.G. Tilak ( Retd EME ).
He established the first of its kind – a Service Station for Dashboard Instruments & Gauges, in Pune, with Testing & Calibrating Equipment designed & manufactured by ILI.
The Indian Armed Forces needed instruments & gauges for their huge fleet,
especially for their imported vehicles and the Defence workshops required Testing & Calibrating Equipment. ILI registered itself with Dir. Gen. Quality Assurance (DGQA) & started supplies to the Defence Dept. ILI became a Grade “A” supplier under the INDIGENISATION drive. ILI also undertook supplies of custom-made instruments required by vehicles/gensets of the Indian Air force.
ILI registered with DGQA for small component fabrication & machining & went in for ISO certification. ILI devised Testing and Calibrating equipment for the new
electronic gauges & supplied the same to Minda Instruments, Galaxy Instruments & Gopal Engineering.
In the year 2000, ILI undertook a unique project with the Maharashtra State Road
Transport Corporation. New roadways between cities, facilitating super-fast travel, required that the State Transport survey & refixes travel time & travel fares. ILI provided the correct Instruments to do this job & successfully completed the task saving lakhs of rupees per day for the MSRTC. The National Defence Academy, Khadakwasla, required special equipment to test the instruments & gauges at their AFTT (Air Force Training Team) Wing. This task was also completed by the ILI team.
In the year
2010-11, ILI ventured into the private sector. They undertook projects which required expertise in analysing technical drawings, manufacturing prototypes or production of one time single units that called for stringent quality control.
ILI manufactures Dashboard Instruments & Gauges, Critical Components for Defence Unit, Jigs & Fixtures for Machining and DC Shunts.
ILI also supplies SMD Shunts.
