The future is now; in 5 years, more people will have a supercomputer in their pocket than have access to clean water. This is the decade where "the rest of the world" is getting online. However, more than 85% of the world’s population does not understand English at all. They will use the web only in their own language, cut off from the rest of the world. We will not get to know them, and they will not get to know us until we can speak the same language. That is the mission of Infinese: to make a language that anyone can understand. A language that you can use without having to learn it. We are applying research in Cognitive Linguistics, Machine Translation, Natural Language Processing, User Experience and Agent Technologies to create a fully multilingual community in which truly anyone can belong.
