The INFORM Hub fosters collaborative research at the intersection of sports nutrition, performance, mental resilience, and recovery, with a particular emphasis on the role of functional foods in modulating the gut microbiota. Our Focus: Prebiotics: Foods that nourish beneficial microorganisms already present in the gut, leading to improved health outcomes. Probiotics: Live microorganisms that confer health benefits when consumed in adequate amounts. Plant Stanols: Primarily known for their cholesterol-lowering effects, plant stanols have also shown potential to influence the gut microbiota. Our Aims: Connect Expertise: Bring together researchers, industry professionals, and policymakers from diverse fields including gut microbiology, food science, nutrition, immunology, mood science, stress & anxiety research, healthcare, clinical research, and sports science. Drive Innovation: Support and fund collaborative projects that develop novel ideas, approaches, and platforms to advance research in functional foods and their impact on health and performance. Build an Expert Network: Establish a platform for members to share knowledge and expertise on how probiotics, prebiotics, and plant stanols can improve mental well-being, enhance sports performance, support menopause management, and facilitate recovery from exercise, stress, and illness.
