About Information Service Academy
Apart from imparting specialized training to the newly inducted officers of Information Group, the ISA has played a very constructive role in arranging capacity building courses for mid-level officers of Information Group, officers from Provincial Information Departments, and journalists belonging to Tribal and Northern Areas of Pakistan. The training module of all these courses were devised in consultation with experts in the field of public information, communication, public relations and mass media. The Information Service Academy was established in 1980 as an in-service training institution responsible for developing skills of the media managers of the Government of Pakistan. The 7th CTP was the first batch to get the training through attachment with various information and media related offices as at that time the ISA had no premises of its own to start classes. Nonetheless, in 1981 the ISA initiated its Specialized Training Programme for the probationers of 8th CTP. Since then, 30 batches of Information Group officers have received training in this institution.
