The programme aims to produce competent engineering graduates in Information Technology by developing knowledge, skills, and disposition through deliberate practice in relevant content demonstrating proficiency in IT. The programme also aims to offer diverse professional and lifelong learning to produce professionals prepared to perform duties ethically and solve real-world problems with innovation and entrepreneurship. Students will be provided with firm grounding in IT fundamentals to support five pillars – Programming, Networking, Human-Computer Interaction, Databases, and Web Systems, overarched by Information Assurance & Security and Professionalism. On completion of the programme, graduates will be able to: 1. Identify, formulate and solve complex engineering problems by applying principles of computing, science, and mathematics. 2. Analyse the problem, identify and define the computing requirements appropriate to the solution and apply computational approaches to the problem-solving process. 3. Design, implement and evaluate a computing-based system, process, component, or program to meet a given set of computing requirements in the context of the IT discipline. 4. Work in multi-disciplinary groups on technology-related issues and function effectively as a team member to accomplish a common goal. 5. Communicate effectively with diverse audiences the technical information consistent with the intended purpose. 6. Use appropriate and emerging technologies to improve the performance of systems and discover the cause of performance problems in a system. 7. Demonstrate an understanding of security issues in the design and administration of computer networks and develop proficiency in the defence of network and system integrity. 8.
