Dr. Aloisio Pereira da Silva is Founder and CEO at INFRACITIES and his research in smart cities has innovative focus, and it incorporates integrated underground facilities management elements, urban planning, and sustainability, creating a system for a New Generation of Infrastructure and Sustainable Mobility for Smart Cities, generating numerous benefits to Government, concessionaires and mainly to the population, bringing great reductions in construction, operation, and maintenance costs, in addition to a strong environmental impact, with a resilient infrastructure system, prepared for severe weather actions, and with the concept of "Zero Waste", using urban waste as raw material and not generating waste during its useful life. INFRACITIES system was created with answers to the demands related to lack of urban planning and represents the Next Generation Infrastructure and Sustainable Mobility for Smart Cities, ordering Natural Gas, Electricity, Water, Telecom and Electric Car Charger, inside a structure made by recycled plastic from urban waste under the sidewalk. Sewer is installed under the bike lane, with green infrastructure for rainwater collecting and filtering. The system provides a new way of thinking about urban design, especially sidewalks and bike lanes, incorporating a joint project strategy with urban infrastructures.
