INGENIAR: Risk Intelligence founded in 1986,is a consultancy firm specialized in disaster risk management for adaptation, resilience, and sustainability. Ingeniar has led different specialized research and consultancy groups with firms in Colombia, Spain, and Mexico. Nowadays is recognized by international agencies, governments and the insurance and reinsurance sector as a specialized firm in the field of risk assessment for financial protection and risk transfer, urban planning and land-use, implementation of building codes, retrofitting, engineering protection works, and risk reduction for adaptation, resilience, and sustainability purposes. In addition to leading the development of the catastrophe risk profiles and disaster risk indicators of most of the countries of Latin America and the Caribbean, INGENIAR has led the development and use of the open-source CAPRA platform (Central America Probabilistic Risk Assessment) for the World Bank, as well as the development and implementation of the multi-hazard Global Risk Model for the UNISDR Global Assessment Reports (2011, 2013, 2015 and Atlas-2017). INGENIAR has highly qualified staff with international prestige who have led different initiatives in the past, related to disaster risk modelling in different countries of Latin America and the Caribbean, Southeast Asia, Europe, and Indian Ocean at different levels of resolution, with the aim of contributing to the development and planning of comprehensive approaches for an integrated disaster risk management and adaptation to climate change.
