InnoVistics is a Junior Achievement company that aims to empower the communication skills of students and speakers alike through innovative and engaging solutions.
We're a group of ten Hoover High School students who work diligently to bring our vision to light. Our company was founded in September 2021.
We've faced the stresses of giving speeches in a high school environment. The anxiety that came with speaking had been unpleasant. The true problem we found had been a lack of ways to practice giving speeches in fun and engaging ways. After doing more research, our team found that 75% of individuals suffer from Glossophobia, a fear of public speaking. More research showed 98% of students felt a need for improvement in their speech. We had to act quickly.
Now, we sell speaking games meant to make practicing presentations more fun and less stressful for students and speakers alike.
The Watch Your Mouth! Speaking Game allows players to practice giving speeches through fun and engaging speech-based activities. Each activity refines a respective part of a presentation, such as eye contact, tone use, projection, and gesturing. These activities may be played independently or cooperatively, and they're great ways to practice giving speeches and strengthen speaking skills simultaneously. An individual could talk about their dream vacation or describe what a good friend means to them while having fun and becoming more comfortable with giving effortless speeches.
Watch Your Mouth! contains pamphlets with curriculum-based content to help players become more comfortable with playing the game. There are added notes about communication and easy exercises to get better at the little things like filler word use and speaking pace too!
