Inq was founded in 2007 by a team who wanted to create innovative products that helped put people’s social network at the heart of the mobile experience. In the six years the business was in operation it launched a series of award-winning handsets and developed a variety of innovative mobile software products.
Achievements
We started with handsets, and created a series of handsets that won us accolades within the mobile space and were awarded “Best handset” and “Best newcomer” at the GSMA awards in 2009.
In 2013 we launched two mobile software products, Material and SO.HO. Material used a combination of semantic technology, social graph analysis and algorithmic intelligence to serve each one of our users their own personal magazine, full of stories tailored to their interests. After the Material service exited Beta in the summer of 2013, our iOS app for Material hit number 1 in the UK free news chart and became a top 5 free news app in the US.
SO.HO, built upon our expertise in Android development; a social launcher and app that sought to change the way people use their social networks whilst out and about on their mobile. Combining Facebook, Twitter and Instagram in one place SO.HO was met with enthusiasm from Android social media junkies and positive reviews from tech media such as Venturebeat, and MSN.
