Fondé en 1923, l’Institut Bergonié est un établissement de santé privé d’intérêt collectif depuis le 20 mai 2010. Il est également l’un des 18 centres de lutte contre le cancer. Situé sur la commune de Bordeaux, il est le seul centre de cancérologie de la Nouvelle-Aquitaine et constitue avec le CHU de Bordeaux le pôle régional de cancérologie. L'Institut Bergonié est labellisé « site de recherche intégrée en cancérologie » (SIRIC) par l’Institut national du cancer (INCa). Membre du groupe UNICANCER, il est porteur d’un modèle de cancérologie fondé sur la pluridisciplinarité, l’individualisation des traitements et le continuum recherche-soins.
